Yay

Wow its been a while since i updated this bitch:

Life right now is pretty sweet. My lovely lady and I just moved into an apartment in Weymouth and we just got cable/internet in today. The apartment is small but perfect for the 2 of us and the kitten.

I recently got hired to the Apple Store which is going to be opening in Dedham but they want me to start working in the Boyleston Street on the 27th. Finally I get to escape Donut World! Only one more week of wreaking like coffee!

Amanda and I are of course going to Italy August 14th - 23rd which will be unbelievable.

And Barricades is doing pretty good. We have had a couple of show-less weeks which has been nice to have a break but I'm anxious to get back on the horse. J-Lutz has joined us on the Bass-y and its been sweet. And we will be recording August 1st and 2nd. Woot Woot!

so life is swanky and Im excited to be back online. Yay!

SUMMER!

So I'm super pumped because I just learned today that I think Barricades now has shows lined up for every weekend from now til the end of June. BOOYAH!

In other news: ITS SUMMER! Everybody seems to be coming home for the summer/for good due to graduations and such. So there will be much merriment. I myself graduate tomorrow followed by a show at McGanns in town.

For those of you who don't know, I have a new Van to replace my last car that became a nice plate of smashe-roni. It is a lovely Van. My brother has dubbed it Van Helsing. The name grew on me. Im still working at Dunkies and Im still on suicide watch during my shifts.

anyways, I hope that everyone is well and I hope to see you at some Barricades shows. You should have plenty to choose from!

CRASH!

So last night my car was rear ended by a truck into a MBTA bus. The front was semi-accordianed so its done. My back kinda hurt so I went to South Shore Hospital where I waited from 12-5 before I actually saw a doctor. He told me to get motrin and wrote me a prescription for vicadin because apparently the pain is supposed to escalate. Right now Im just sore. Oh yea, the driver of the truck was drunk so they arrested him... DOUCHEBAG!!!!! So on the plus side, this gives me an excuse to get a new car. Not brand new but I need something big fo' instrumentation.

that is all

taunting na na's

so everybody is posting about getting back to school and stuff.

But I'm done with school!! Which is very exciting. I feel like I'm taking sick days except I feel fine. It's kinda cool. However I do need to jump on the ball with a new employer. Dunkies is slowly going downhill and I'd rather have a job that I can work in the day time leaving my nights free. Plus it would be nice to not work at Dunkin Donuts anymore.

Anyways: Jared returns in March and he seems quite keen on pushing Barricades to become a form of income, which I'm cool with. Getting paid to play music would be sooooo ill. We got paid for last weeks performance and even though I only went home 10 bucks heavier it still felt awesome to get cash for doing something I love.

So hopefully i will soon leave the donut shop for sexier employment.

Have fun at school everyone :P!

did anyone see the live ghosthunters last night when something blatantly grabbed the dudes jacket and pulled him back? Cause that was cool!

Barricades played our first show last night... to an audience of like 6, but then Ette showed up for our last tune. We still had time left so we whipped out an impromptu Say It Ain't So followed by a request to play That's What She Said again because Nick missed it. We messed up a few times in that one and I dropped my pick. I had to bite open the pick case for a new one, spewing picks everywhere, but thats just because im a huge badass.

hope everyone had a happy/sexy halloween

weeeell its been an interesting couple of days for this kid

Yesterday the lovely Amanda and myself took a lovely excursion to the center of guitars to pick up a pedal board for this kid (me) when I go to pay for it 2 employees walk up to me and go "let me ask you something: what would you say if I sold you an Behringer amp for 5 dollars. I can do it, I'm a manager. We need to make room for more product and we need it out now." So I walked out with pedal board and a 60 watt amp that I bought for 5 bucks (normally 130).

so that was awesome

Today I went to my class all bundled up cause it was freakin cold. about 1/2 way through class I feel really hot so I take off my layers. Then I realize, "oh shit, im gonna pass out" so i grab a halls hoping for the sugar to bring up my low sugar level. just as the halls finish up I see everything going dark...

.. then I wake up to my head hurting, the teacher gone and everyone staring at me asking "are you alright" "you hit your head off the desk dude"

yay for passing out. So now im back at home cause I still dont feel 100 and I called out of work. woot

so how was your day?

p.s. halloween show, Barricades first, tewksbury TUMC Venue. you should come

........

So yesterday I was working and I noticed that I was starting to strain myself more then usual just talking.
By the time I got out at noon I realized my voice was on the out, which was bad because I was having Barricades practice.
During practice I was trying my best to stay on key and damned if I wasnt doing to bad a job of it.
After practice I went to Al's where there began to be a very obvious change in my voice.
I went home for a bit then headed to Amanda's for the night where my voice was all but diminished.
Slept through the night only to wake up for my opening shift without the ability to produce sound from my vocal chords.
What am I to do? Call out? oh yea, even if someone would pick up their phone at 4 a.m., how the hell am I gonna use a phone?
and so began my day of taking orders using only expressive eyes and awkward hand gestures. It was a challenge, yet amusing. I feel fine, my voice box just doesn't want to work. I have a little bit of a voice if I push it now so Im hoping this was just random 24 hour mute syndrome and will be cleared up by morning.

just thought id post that since I cant really tell anyone about it verbatim.

ta

fuck it, im updating

i wonder if anyone ever said "downdating"?

anyways, it seems like people seem to be somewhat updating again, and i dont have to be in class for like another 20 minutes so here goes:

Summer. I worked. I slept. Then I worked a lot and slept a little less. Seeing the nutshell? On the plus side I started another band with my bro, J Walsh, and the oh-so-sexy Norm Earnest. We are called Barricades and hopefully there will be a Space-de-My up soon with some tracks we recorded over the summer in the basement.

AL HAS RETURNED FROM HIS EXCURSION TO NEW YORK!!!!!

which means the Bobby will rock again
hopefully soon...
hopefully tomorrow...
I should probably make some phone calls

Uh what else?

Oh yea school. School started tuesday. This is hopefully my last semester here at the Soit. I have to take an online class this semester. Don't know how thats gonna fly but goddammit if I havnt hit the runway already. Hopefully Improv will start next monday. Thats always a blast.

This semester, the townies include:
myself
that chick im dating
Al
and Bill

so im hoping that will add to my amusement til december.

Rock Band 2 comes out the 18th. im pretty pumped. Oo we got not sucky internet at the homestead and its pretty flippin sweet. I dont have to load a 2 minute video for 10 minutes anymore.
(whissssssssssssssssssssssssssstle fffft and glide)

So yesterday was my brother, Dan's, birthday

he decided he wanted to go skydiving
and it was AMAZING!!!!!!

Me, Amanda, Dan, Brian Clark, and my bros friends Braden and Ariel drove out to Orange MA and we got there around 1:20ish. We were told to be there around 2 so it was a good time to arrive. At about 1:40 we went into this 10 minute training session where some guy told us what to expect.

however, the weather delayed us and we sat around till about 4:50 chilling in the staff lounge watching the Fugitive and playing on the shittiest pool table known to man. Around 4:50 we were summoned downstairs to meet our diving instructors and to suit up. We suited up and the instructors gave us the run through of what they wanted us to do. The other professional divers were also getting suited up and looked pumped.

and then the weather changed again leaving us lounging around looking like lost ghostbusters. Most of our instructors came over to hang out and talk while we waited for better conditions.

at about 5:35 they announced that the plane was ready and we quickly found our divers and we boarded the plane. Amanda and My brother decided they wanted video tapes so the plane consisted of the 6 of us, our instructors, the 2 videographers, and about 3 solo jumpers. the plane climbed for about 15 minutes while we anxiously awaited the door to open at 13,000 feet. Brian kept mumbling "what are we doing?!?" it was highly amusing.

at 13,500 the door opened and we were, one-by-one, quickly moved to the door where the instructors would hurl themselves with us attached out the door into the free-fall. 13,500 - 6,000 flew by in about 45 seconds then I pulled the shoot and with a quick jolt i was upright again and falling significantly slower. Below me I could see Dan, Amanda, and Ariel. Ariel's instructor was doing some crazy spin towards the ground for amusement. it took about 5 minutes to float to the ground.

it was awesome.

I'd like to point out that the videographers have the best job of all time. They hang out and wait for people to say they want to be filmed, then they suit up with a camera helmet on and follow you up on the plane, jump out, shoot you, land, quickly edit the video, give it to you, and then repeat.

the most depressing thing however was having to go to work at dunkin donuts at 4:30 in the morning after I had just jumped out of a plane the day before.

If you've ever had the slightest interest, i highly highly highly recommend doing it. The instructors make you feel safe and they let you know what to do and expect every step of the way.

DOOOOO IT!!!!

If you hav'nt seen it then go ASAP cause it is quite good.

Anyways, prediction time and heres my thought process:

When the movie started up I noticed that instead of just saying "Marvel" it said "marvel studios" and after reading this weeks rolling stone I found out that Marvel had made the movie on its own.

SPOILER ALERT!!!!!

if you have seen the movie hopefully you stayed past the credits because there is a scene where Tony Stark returns home to find Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury invite Iron man into the Avengers initiative.

which is cool but let me continue

As many of you know, this summer there is a remake of the horrible train wreck of a movie that was The Incredible Hulk. This new movie which is starring Edward Norton really doesn't look that much better other then the trailers have actors reading lines like they ARENT reciting shakespeare so thats cool.

anyways, according to Rolling Stone, Marvel produced this movie too and supposedly there is a Downey Jr. cameo as Iron Man in it. With the quality film making that was Iron Man I'm actually curious to see the Hulk

But this all leads me to believe that Marvel is planning on kicking out an Avengers movie which would be P. I. M. P.

so thats my prediction: thoughts? yes? no?

Okay, so cd review part 2

yesterday I bought 2 cds. Fall Out Boys "Live in Pheonix" and Ludos "You're Awful, I Love You"

okay just to get it out of the way:

Live In Pheonix: It's Fall Out Boy. Its live. I saw the tour. Comes with a DVD of the show, backstage antics, and all thet're videos to date. Which is cool except THE FUCKING THING IS EDITED FOR CONTENT!!!!! Gay. Screw you 16 year olds.

Ludo however, Very awesome cd. Its quirky Alternative. A kind of Weezer-esque but a bit more pop but it is quite good. Highly recommend you youtube the video for the single "Love Me Dead" Amusing song and humorous video. Low Budget but amazing.

so thats all im off to work shortly

Panic out of the disco?

So... has anybody else heard Pretty Odd, the new cd from Panic! at the Disco?

I really like it, but one thinks that they traveled back to 1965 to record this cd. If you didn't like them before, give this cd a listen because it sounds absolutely nothing like the emo-odyssey a Fever You Can't Sweat Out was.

Seriously, this sounds like Patrick Stump singing for the Beatles!

and a country/folk song just came on... this cd goes everywhere the last one didnt.

every song is different.

Crazy... but good
